Vocab: Part 5
May 18, 2026
In this Biblical Hebrew lesson, Dr. Abidan Shah continues building vocabulary from Larry Mitchell’s A Student’s Vocabulary for Biblical Hebrew and Aramaic, moving through words that occur roughly 500 to 400 times in the Hebrew Old Testament.
This lesson covers important number forms like four, five, seven, forty, fifty, and seventy, along with core vocabulary such as sword, altar, judgment, heavens, guard, prince, Saul, and more. If you are learning Biblical Hebrew, this kind of vocabulary work is essential because grammar alone will only take you so far. The more words you know, the more confidence you will have reading the Old Testament.
